Why Symmetry in Design?

Anytime I have an opportunity to create a symmetrical room, I will take it and run. There is something so calming about symmetry and balance.

For this room, the only thing I could see, was two sleek and simple leather sofas. Here they stand facing one another like soldiers. They are staring down the opposer who dares go before him. Instead of an adversary, the matching brother has become an ally. They work together like soldiers should. They are in perfect harmony and bring peace to this living room.

When arranging your furniture with symmetry, not everything will be in balance. Create moments of weight that will balance the room. Because I have a very large book hutch on one side of the space, I decided to use only one lamp across from it.
